Apostle Paul's Road to the Sea
Standing at the head of the boulevard leading to the sea, I couldn't help but wonder what the Apostle Paul thought about the city Ephesus after he disembarked from the sailing ship that brought him here.
The ancient city of Ephesus was constructed in the 10th century BC. The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. During its heyday, this road led directly to the see, now more than 10 km away. This road would probably have been used by the Apostle Paul on his visits to Ephesus.
