Gothic structure originally built in 15th C., rebuilt early 17th C. • Renaissance figural sgraffiti depict biblical & mythological scenes, discovered under Baroque plaster, 1905, restored 1919 • as a child, Jewish writer Franz Kafka (1883-1924) lived on the second floor with his parents, 1889-96 • became part of Old Town Hall [Staromestská Radnice] after 1896
