Orange - along Obere Neckarstraße

The brilliant colors of the buildings along Obere Neckarstraße in Altstadt Heidelberg immediately captured my attention. I couldn't have asked for better conditions; a light rain had left the streets wet and accentuated the colors. Combined with a walk through the old town, it made for a peaceful walk.

The oldest part of the city, the Altstadt sits just below the Heidelberg Castle (Schloss), and extends along the river for a mile, with Karlstor on one end, and Bismarckplatz on the other. The Altstadt is a wonderful combination of old and new buildings, narrow streets, market squares, arts, history, shopping, eating and relaxing.
