Picture Window Cabin
Picture Window Cabin at the Lonely Dell Ranch. While walking to the end of the road, past the main ranch buildings, towards the Paria River, I came across this lonely building. I've seen it referred to as the "Picture Window" cabin which seems fitting, given the large window in one wall (not shown). Very little is known about this building, other than it was occupied for about 3 years by Jerry Johnson, who lived and farmed here in exchange for protecting the ranch and preventing vandalism.
The Lee's Ferry and Lonely Dell Ranch Historic District includes the ranch homesteaded by Mormon pioneer John D. Lee at Lee's Ferry, Arizona, and now in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It is notable for its association with Lee, the ferry and the ranch's extensive irrigation facilities.
