Fairy Tale Týn Cathedral after Dark
The vibrancy and excitement of Prague's Old Town Square continues until well into the night. The buildings of the square are lit up, but the highlight has to be the spotlights on the fairy tale Týn Cathedral. When I rounded the corner from the astrological clock tower I was stopped in my tracks by what I viewed; the towers dominated the view and seemed to capture the attention of most of the people in the square.
The Church of Our Lady before Týn Cathedral is a 14th-century gothic landmark with its 265 ft (80m) towers, topped by four small spires, dominates the Old Town Square. The towers of the cathedral are not symmetrical. One, Adam, is larger than the other, Eve. This representation of the masculine and feminine sides of the world is characteristic of Gothic architecture of the period.
