Seeing the six minarets and domes of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (or Blue Mosque) from across the the Sultanahmet Square, the Mosque has the effect I'm sure it's architect intended; to inspire awe with its overwhelming size, majesty and splendor.
Everyone loves a bazaar; the vibrant colors, the sounds of shoppers and merchants, often haggling over prices, with unique articles for sale. Watching the people, gives the bazaar a life all it's own. The gold, the silks, the spices ...
I never gave a lot of thought to visiting Turkey. I was aware of depth of history and architecture found there, but somehow, I never considered visiting there. At least until an opportunity presented itself to tour the 7 cities of Revelation.
